自2012年4月起，我院先后有20余名留学生参与到为贫困家庭子女义务任教的活动中来。参与义务任教的留学生们虽然来自不同的国家，有着不同的肤色，说着不同的语言，但他们却有着共同的特点――擅长英语，乐于助人。他们每周三轮流到西岗区日新街道的“阳光英语学习园地” 义务为7岁到10几岁的贫困家庭的孩子们上英语课。     留学生外教善于寓教于乐。他们的教学风格幽默风趣，面部表情和肢体语言也很丰富，在活跃的课堂气氛中，孩子们很快抛开羞涩内向的一面，展示出孩子强烈的求知欲和活泼好动的特点。他们大声地读着英语单词，大方地用英语介绍自己，兴致勃勃地做游戏......在这别样的课堂上，他们快乐地学习，轻松地获得知识。留学生外教用他们真诚的付出得到了家长和学生们的认可和爱戴。大连电视台、大连晚报等多家媒体也先后对义务任教活动进行了采访和报道，希望这项公益活动能够永远开展下去，有更多愿意奉献的人参与进来。 In April 2012 the College of International Education of Liaoning Normal University started a volunteer project. Every Wednesday two students go to the local community center to teach English. There are about 20 children in the class, and most of them are 7-8 years old. Most of them can’t afford to pay for English lessons at private language schools, but they are all very smart and eager to learn! So, if you have free time on Wednesday from 13:30 to 15:30, if you can speak English very well, and if you like children and want to do something good for others for free, come and join us! It doesn’t matter what country you are from, as long as you know English and a little bit of Chinese, you are more than welcome to come! You don’t have to teach every Wednesday, we’ll be taking turns.
